There's shedloads of room in the club's solid new shack

Santa made an early call to Denby Dale Amateur Radio club and its members when our new shack was delivered and erected at our field in Farnley Tyas.

The installation team from MCD Sheds of Barnsley made light work of building the wooden base followed by the walls and roof, on a cold but dry day.


And several of our members were on hand to make sure everything went to plan. The new shack has moved to a new location further west up the field.


We also moved our trailer mast so that we could erect an 80m dipole during future events.


The quality of the shed is outstanding and will give us the opportunity to run special events and field days for many years to come. A protective coating will be applied when the weather improves.


For those nostalgic about the old shack, which gave good service despite being rotten, rodent-infested and gently falling apart, a memory of it can be found below.
